Operating Model
Baverstock Defence Limited operates a hybrid fulfilment model designed to suit the requirements of each contract:
Direct fulfilment — for time-critical or straightforward contract requirements, goods are shipped directly from source (international manufacturer or United Kingdom supplier) to the Ministry of Defence end-user or prime contractor destination. No physical handling by Baverstock Defence.
Consolidated fulfilment — for contracts requiring United Kingdom physical consolidation, staging, buffer stock holding, quality inspection, or kitting, goods are received at the Baverstock site and dispatched onward to end-user destinations. This capability is available on request and is priced separately from base contract supply.
Third-party consolidation — where alternative United Kingdom consolidation is contract-preferred, the company works with established third-party logistics providers under service level agreement.
Site as Optional Capability
The Baverstock site is an operational asset available to the company. It is not a fixed requirement of every contract fulfilment. Its availability, however, differentiates Baverstock Defence from pure-brokerage competitors by providing physical fallback capability, quality control staging, and United Kingdom presence for time-sensitive or specification-critical contract requirements.
Site Overview
The Baverstock site comprises approximately fifty acres of consented industrial land on the chalk downlands of southern Wiltshire. The site is bounded by mature perimeter fencing and served by an established access route from the local road network. It has held defence-related operational function continuously since 1942.
Existing defence-adjacent operations are conducted on site by other members of the founding family, providing continuity of established security regime, institutional knowledge, and operational infrastructure.

Butler Shed Structures
The fourteen buildings on the Baverstock site are prefabricated steel Butler shed structures, erected by American forces during the Second World War as part of the pre-invasion logistics build-up. Manufactured in Kansas City, Missouri, and shipped across the Atlantic in flat-pack form, the buildings were designed for rapid deployment and durable service. All fourteen structures remain in serviceable order eighty years after construction. Five have been re-clad and insulated to modern standards.

Yards and Container Operations
Three secure yards on the site are consented for stacked-container operations. On-site container handling equipment is available, with capacity for standard 20-foot and 40-foot ISO container movements. Yard capacity supports pre-deployment staging, holding of finished goods, and transfer between road and rail modes.

Rail Connection
A rail siding formation extends from the national network directly into the bottom yard of the site. The formation is presently overgrown but the trackbed and access geometry are preserved. Reinstatement of the connection is available, subject to Network Rail engagement, and would enable direct rail-loading operations for bulk freight, oversize consignments, and defence bulk-rail interoperability.
Rail-connected industrial sites of this specification are exceptional in the private United Kingdom market.
Location
The Baverstock site is located in southern Wiltshire, England, close to major defence installations of Salisbury Plain and within convenient distance of the A303 trunk road, providing direct connection to London (east) and the South West (west).

Visits by confirmed prospective customers, principal contractors, and appropriately authorised industry representatives may be arranged by prior appointment.
